Search for an Affinity Senior of the Month
Welcome to your new Affinity blog. Here's where you can talk about anything that interests you: Donald Trump, the price of gas, your Saturday evening canasta game, or the beautiful lady or handsome guy next door.
To make things even more exciting, we are introducing an Affinity-wide "Search for an Affinity Senior of the Month" feature that we hope will generate interesting personal stories of adventure, tragedy, love, compassion, and even outright heroism from our residents. Not stories about your neighbors, but about yourself.
Everybody fifty-five or older has a story to tell, but most of us think that ours is too insignificant for publication. That's not true. If it is good enough to relate to your children or spouse, it's good enough to repeat here, on your blog.
Think back to how you almost got killed climbing Mt. Rainer, or snorkeling in Acupulco, or skiing on Whistler. Or about the injured raccoon you picked on the highway and took to a vet for treatment. Or how you helped out at the scene of a major highway accident.
Maybe you haven't foiled a bank robbery or evicted a bunch of rowdy Hell's Angels from a bar, but neither has Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Every month, we'll select three seniors for special awards and arrange for public interest interviews on local radio, TV, and newspapers.
Don't worry about spelling grammar, or style, as Jack Webb used to say on dragnet, "just the facts ma'am".
Let's hear from you soon.
